Modem guide for FTTP, FTTC, and HFC
Step 1
Connect your đ»Â device to your modem using one of the 2 options described below:
Option 1: Wireless
Connect yourđ» device to your Home Network, also known as Home Wi-Fi. â ïžYour home doesnât have Internet yet, but thatâs ok, you can still access your Home Network.Â
If you donât know how to connect to your Home Network, follow this guide first.
Option 2: Wired
Plug an Ethernet cable (see the picture) from your đ» to the back part of your modem. Â

Step 2
On your đ» device, open your internet browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Edge), type http://192.168.0.1 on the address bar, and press enter.
Step 3
Login with your modem admin password.
â ïž The admin password is not the same as your Home Wi-Fi password. If you canât remember it weâll help you below.
Canât remember your admin password? youâll have to factory reset your modem. Press the âResetâ button using a pin (as shown in the screenshot) for 10 seconds until the modem lights are off. Wait for 5 minutes and go back to Step 1.
â ïž Be aware that when resetting your modem your Home Wi-Fi name & password will change to default. Youâll be able to define a preferred name & password if you want on Step 7.

Step 4
Once logged in, for Quick Setup, click Advanced > Quick Setup. Select the Time Zone that applies then click âNextâ.

Step 5
Under âSelect Connection Typeâ, make sure to choose âDynamic IPâ then hit âNextâ.

Step 6
Keep âRouter MAC Addressâ as âUse Default MACâ.
Click Next.

Step 7
Personalize Wireless settings: Set up your Wi-Fi settings:
Wireless Radio: Enable
Network Name (SSID): [Your network name]
Password: [Your password]

Step 8
Hit "Next": The router will perform a connection test.
â ïžIf Wi-Fi is used for configuration, make sure to reconnect to Wi-Fi once loaded, especially if Wi-Fi credentials got personalised, as it would disconnect from the Wi-Fi since new credentials are applied.
Once Reconnected, Firmware update:
The router will check if a firmware update is needed.Â
You can choose to update or skip this part.

Step 9
Then the setup summary will be displayed, just proceed by clicking âNextâ.

Step 10
For the page showing âThis might cause double NAT issues.â, just select âNone of the Aboveâ.
Then just âSkipâ TP-Link ID setup and âSkipâ the rest and âAuto updateâ firmware later.
Once it is done, wait for about 1 or 2 minutes until status changes to âConnectedâ.Â
â ïžReconnect the Wi-Fi of the device thatâs used for the configuration, as it would disconnect from Wi-Fi when the personalised Wi-Fi credentials are applied. Especially if configuration has been done via Wi-Fi.
Advise to upgrade modem to Wi-Fi 6 if complaining about Internet speeds. This modem is Wi-Fi 4 (2.4 GHz band only)

This guide shows when the router has been factory reset or used for the first time.
Otherwise, go to, Internet at the top of the page and manually Select,
INTERNET CONNECTION TYPE: Dynamic IP
The following settings are set to default if modem is set up the first time or reset to factory default
VLAN Settings: Disabled
MTU: 1490-1500
NAT: Enabled
Then just click âSaveâ

Step 11
Check the Connection:
Check that your internet connection is working properly by accessing www.google.com in your web browser.
Test your speed by typing www.speedtest.net in your web browser and click âGOâ.
You are connected now to amaysim Home internet!

Modem guide for Wi-Fi Settings
Step 1
Connect your đ»Â device to your modem using one of the 2 options described below:

If you donât know how to connect to your Home Network, follow this guide first.
Option 2: Wired

Step 2
Open your internet browser (e.g. Chrome), type http://tplinkwifi.net  or http://192.168.0.1 on the address bar, and press enter.Â

Login with your modem admin password.

You will then be asked to âCreate an administrator passwordâ then youâll be logged in.
â ïž Be aware than when resetting your modem your Home Wi-Fi name & password with change to the default. Youâll be able to define a special name & password if you want on Step 7.
Reset Button | Press and hold the button until all LEDs turn on to reset the router to its factory default settings.
For first time set up or after modem router got reset to factory default.

Step 4
Go to Wireless
If didnât go thru wizard and you remember your admin login earlier, you may go straight to âWirelessâ.

Step 5
Personalise Wi-Fi credentials as preferred. Then, âSaveâ.
Wireless settings: Set up your Wi-Fi settings:
Network Name (SSID): [Your network name]
Password: [Your password]

Step 6
Once it is successfully saved, click 'OK'.
