Before we start, you’ll have to identify the ‘connection type’ of your address. If you don’t know it yet, simply enter your address in this webpage www.amaysim.com.au/home-internet/nbn and take note of your connection type (FTTP, FTTC, HFC, FTTN or FTTB).
This modem is not compatible with FTTN and FTTB.
Modem guide for FTTP, FTTC, and HFC
Step 1
Connect your 💻 device to your modem using one of the 2 options described below:
Option 1: Wireless
Connect your💻 device to your Home Network, also known as Home Wi-Fi. ⚠️Your home doesn’t have Internet yet, but that’s ok, you can still access your Home Network.
If you don’t know how to connect to your Home Network, follow this guide first.
Step 2
On your 💻 device, open your internet browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Edge), type http://192.168.0.1 or http://tplinkmodem.net on the address bar, and press enter.
Step 3
Login with your modem admin password.
⚠️ The admin password is not the same as your Home Wi-Fi password. If you can’t remember it we’ll help you below.
Can’t remember your admin password? you’ll have to factory reset your modem. Press the ‘Reset’ button using a pin (as shown in the screenshot) for 10 seconds until the modem lights are off. Wait for 5 minutes and go back to Step 1.
⚠️ Be aware than when resetting your modem your Home Wi-Fi name & password with change to the default. You’ll be able to define a specific name & password if you want on Step 9.
Step 4
Click Quick Setup on the left menu, and then click Next.
Step 5
Select Wireless Router and click Next.
Step 6
Select Dynamic IP and click Next.
Step 7
Select ‘No, I don’t need do clone MAC address’ and click Next.
Step 8
Select 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Click Next.
Step 9
The Quick Setup – Wireless 2.4GHz screen shows your Home Wi-Fi details that your older home devices will use to connect wireless to the Internet.
Wireless Network Name: leave the default (recommended) or type your desired name.
WPS2-PSK (Recommended) Wireless Password: type your desired password.
Take a note of the name and password so you can connect your home devices later.
Click Next.
Step 10
The Quick Setup – Wireless 5GHz screen shows your Home Wi-Fi details that your newer home devices will use to connect wireless to the Internet.
Wireless Network Name: leave the default (recommended) or type your desired name.
WPS2-PSK (Recommended) Wireless Password: type your desired password
Take a note of the name and password so you can connect your home devices later.
Click Next.
Step 11
Click Save, and after 1 minute switch your modem OFF and ON.
Wait for 5 minutes.
Step 12
Check that your internet connection is working properly by accessing www.google.com in your web browser.
Test your speed by typing www.speedtest.net in your web browser and click ‘GO’.
You are connected now to amaysim Home internet!
