An amaysim eSIM lets you connect your phone to our network faster than ever before. But as with most things techy, things can get tricky. That’s why we’re here to help with tips on installation, activation and everything in between.
How do I delete an eSIM and order a replacement?
If you need to remove your eSIM (for example, you’re switching devices or replacing a broken eSIM), you can do it directly in your phone’s settings.
iPhone
Settings › Mobile Service (or Mobile Data).
Tap the eSIM plan you want to remove.
Choose Delete eSIM or Remove Mobile Plan.
-
Confirm when asked.
Your physical SIM (if you have one) won’t be affected.
Android
Steps can vary slightly depending on the brand, but here’s how it usually works.
Samsung
Settings › Connections › SIM Manager.
Tap your eSIM plan.
Select Remove Mobile Plan or Delete eSIM.
Confirm to remove it.
Google Pixel and most others
Settings › Network & Internet › SIMs.
Tap the eSIM you want to delete.
Choose Delete SIM or Remove.
Confirm to finish.

What should I do if I've deleted my eSIM?
Deleting or removing an eSIM via your phone settings is like throwing away a physical SIM – it can't be recovered and each eSIM can only be downloaded once.
If you’ve accidentally deleted your eSIM, you can replace it using the amaysim app or My amaysim. Please see the instructions above.
Alternatively, contact us and we’ll help you get a replacement sorted right away.
Note: Deleting an eSIM does not cancel your phone plan or service.
What should I do if I can’t scan the QR on my Google Pixel?
If your Google Pixel camera doesn’t automatically detect an eSIM QR code, you can download your eSIM manually following these steps:
Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs.
Select Add more.
What do I do if I get a ‘Transfer not supported’ message on my iPhone during eSIM setup?
If you’ve purchased a new iPhone and are transferring data from your old iPhone or other device to your new one, you’ll be prompted to transfer your eSIM.
Unfortunately, we do not currently support native iPhone SIM transfer but you can still manually transfer your eSIM to your new device.

How do I switch back to a physical SIM?
If you prefer that little plastic SIM card instead, visit My amaysim or log in to the amaysim app.
Scroll down the screen.
Select Replace SIM.
Select I want a replacement physical SIM.
Follow the instructions on screen.
We will mail your new physical SIM to you.
If you need an urgent physical SIM replacement, you can purchase a $2 SIM from over 12,000 stores Australia-wide and contact us to help you activate it.
What should I do if my QR code isn’t working and I can’t change my settings?
You can only change your mobile plan settings in My amaysim or the amaysim app once your eSIM is successfully installed on your phone.
If you haven’t completed your eSIM installation, you won’t be able to:
Change plan
Turn auto-renew on or off
Cancel plan
To get around this issue, just click the button that says I have installed my eSIM and you will now be allowed to update your plan settings.
If you need a replacement eSIM or physical SIM, follow these instructions.
