If you don’t have anything in your data bank and have exceeded your allowance but want to stay online, you might want to add a data top-up to your plan.
You can check your data balance at any time (including your data bank balance) via SMS, the amaysim app or My amaysim.
How to add a data top-up to your plan
You can top up your data by SMS, on the amaysim app or via My amaysim. You’ll be charged $10 for every 1GB you add to your plan.
If you have a linked payment method on your account, simply follow the list of steps below to top up your account:
Topping up by SMS
Text ‘TOP’ followed by the amount of data you’d like to add, e.g. ‘TOP1GB’ from your amaysim number to 568.
Topping up on the amaysim app
- Login to the amaysim app and swipe from the home screen.
- Select ‘Add data’.
- Follow the prompts to add the amount of data you need to your plan.
Topping up via My amaysim
- Login to My amaysim.
- Select ‘Data Remaining’.
- Choose ‘Add data’, then follow the prompts to add the amount of data you need to your plan.
Renew your plan early
Renewing your plan early will immediately restart your data allowance. This can be done at any point during your current period, via the amaysim app or My amaysim following these simple steps:

- Log in to My amaysim and select the ‘Plan’ menu option.
- Select ‘Manage your plan’.
- Select ‘Renew your plan’.
- Check your details are correct on the confirmation screen before proceeding.
- Select ‘Confirm and pay’ at the bottom of the screen.
- That’s it! The payment method on your account will be charged and your plan will be renewed.
Renewing your plan early on the amaysim app
- Log in to the amaysim app.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and select ‘Manage your plan’.
- Check your details are correct on the confirmation screen before proceeding.
- Scroll down and select ‘Renew your plan’.
You’re all done! The payment method on your account will be charged and your plan will be renewed.
How data banking works
Otherwise known as ‘data rollover’, data banking saves all your unused data from your previous renewal period, ready for you to use whenever you run low on data.
For example, if your plan gives you 30GB of data each period, and you only use 10GB, when you next renew, the unused 20GB will automatically be saved in your data bank for later use.
Unlike other telcos, we don’t cap your data banking, meaning there is no limit to the amount of data that can be stored in your data bank. So, you’ll always have that little bit extra to keep swiping, scrolling or streaming!
You’ll start using your banked data automatically whenever your existing allowance runs out
If you use up all the data allocated in your current plan before its renewal date, you’ll begin using any data stored in your data bank to keep you online until you next renew.
You don’t need to do anything to start using your banked data.
You can check your data bank balance at any time
Just login to the amaysim app or My amaysim to see how much you have stored in your data bank.
You’ll lose your data bank balance if you change plans
Unfortunately, it isn’t possible for you to transfer the data you have stored in your data bank over to a new amaysim plan.
Paying for an amaysim data-only plan using a voucher
You can add a data top-up or data-only plan using a voucher of the same value as the top-up or plan you want to add.
Once you’ve applied the voucher to your amaysim account, follow one of these simple steps to add the data option you want to your plan:
Adding via My amaysim
- Login to My amaysim.
- Select ‘Manage Plan’.
- Choose your desired data option.
- Follow the prompts to add this to your plan.
Adding by SMS
- Text the shortcut of data top-up/ data-only plan from your amaysim number to 568.
- For a data top-up, text ‘TOP’ followed by the data amount you want to add, e.g. ‘TOP1GB’.
- For a data-only plan, just text the amount of data, e.g. ‘2GB’.
