Modem guide for FTTP, FTTC, and HFC
Step 1
Connect your đ»Â device to your modem using one of the 2 options described below:
Option 1: Wireless
Connect yourđ» device to your Home Network, also known as Home Wi-Fi. â ïžYour home doesnât have Internet yet, but thatâs ok, you can still access your Home Network.Â
If you donât know how to connect to your Home Network, follow this guide first.
Â
Option 2: Wired
Plug an Ethernet cable (see the picture) from your đ» to the back part of your modem. Â

Step 2
On your đ» device, open your internet browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Edge), type http://192.168.1.1 on the address bar, and press enter.

Step 3
Login with your modem admin password.
â ïž The admin password is not the same as your Home Wi-Fi password. If you canât remember it weâll help you below.
Â
Canât remember your admin password? youâll have to factory reset your modem. Press the âResetâ button using a pin (as shown in the screenshot) for 10 seconds until the modem lights are off. Wait for 5 minutes and go back to Step 1.
â ïž Be aware that when resetting your modem your Home Wi-Fi name & password will change to default. Youâll be able to define a preferred name & password if you want on Step 7.

Step 4
Once logged in, general guide will be displayed, just proceed by clicking âNextâ.

Step 5
Under âISP Settingsâ, make sure to choose âEthernetâ for WAN Access Type and set VLAN ID to 0 for disabled VLAN tag, then go âNextâ.

Step 6
Under âConfigure Your Internet Connectionâ, select Internet connection type to âDHCP Connection (Dynamic IP Addressâ.
Click Next.

Step 7
Customer may or may not set up own Wi-Fi name and password.
Click on âNextâ
Follow Wi-Fi password guidelines.
Â
Step 8
Under âDevice Admin Passwordâ, customer may keep or change the default password.
Click âNextâ.
Follow admin password guidelines.
Â
Step 9
Then the setup summary will be displayed, just proceed by clicking âFinishâ.
Â
Step 10
Once it is successfully saved, click âOKâ.
Â
Wait for about 1 or 2 minutes until status changes to âConnectedâ.
Â
If it stays âDisconnectedâ, power cycle the modem router.
Â
â ïžIf Wi-Fi is used for configuration, make sure to reconnect to Wi-Fi once loaded, especially if Wi-Fi credentials got personalised, as it would disconnect from the Wi-Fi since new credentials are applied.

Step 11
Check the Connection:
Check that your internet connection is working properly by accessing www.google.com in your web browser.
Test your speed by typing www.speedtest.net in your web browser and click âGOâ.
You are connected now to amaysim Home internet!

Canât remember your admin password and default password didnât work? youâll have to factory reset your modem. Press the âResetâ button using a pin (as shown in the screenshot) for 10 seconds until the modem power light blinks. Wait for 5 minutes and create your admin password credentials.
â ïž Resetting your modem puts your Home Wi-Fi name & password to default. Set up your Ethernet WAN IPoE credentials then youâll be able to define a preferred name & password if on the next steps.

Step 4
Go to Settings > Wireless.
Step 5
Change the Network Name (SSID) field and/or Password then Click Save.
Step 6
Wait until settings are saved. Reconnect to Wi-Fi once saved, since Wi-Fi credentials are successfully personalised, as it would disconnect from the Wi-Fi since new credentials are applied.
Reconnected, then successful change of Wi-Fi credentials done.

Check the Connection:
Check that your internet connection is working properly by accessing www.google.com in your web browser.
Test your speed by typing www.speedtest.net in your web browser and click âGOâ.
